It is shocking to me how low the bar has reached. You don’t even walk into a meeting without being clear before hand of what you would like to achieve in that meeting, the ideal and everything acceptable working backwards from that. Yet large scale decisions like this and the current war were made without a realistic end goal. In my head I keep circling everything back to how successful a hijacked media has been in brainwashing enough people to vote for the least qualified candidate. This particular issue is in your capital, but in the UK we suffer the same ills. It is the same handful of people at the root of the problems worldwide. The answer? People like you and so many others who are doing this work and hopefully an audience with curiosity for the truth, that would steadily grow. The only thing that’s bigger than the influence of the billionaires is the power of the people.

Thank you Dexter for your service and commitment to our country. In order to have a healthy future citizens need to be informed with facts about the situation inside our government. Where changes need to happen to keep our democracy from falling into an autocracy or fascist state. It feels like we are at a tipping point where immediate action is needed to prevent the collapse of our republic.

Diana, " immediate" is the operable and necessary word. Thank you. The current situation our Democracy faces is starting to seem like "The Handmaiden's Tale" on steroids. or God forbid, much worse.

“Zero” implies perfection—and perfection is intangible. That is precisely the leadership problem with making zero the end state. A mission requires a defined, measurable, and attainable condition for success; otherwise, there is no objective point at which leaders can say, “We accomplished the mission.” Without an achievable end state, the mission simply becomes indefinite. And so does the use of taxpayer dollars.

I cannot resist a comment as I live here too. Last weekend I was on the National Mall to visit a museum. As Dexter stated, the Guard troops have been here for a year, yet every time I see them, I still feel an involuntary flinch and clench and look to see if they are armed. I also fight to suppress the urge to scream obscenities at them - which I never would do - as it is not their fault that they are here. Immediately I next consider engagement but that has never actually been possible as they never make eye contact. They loiter, sometimes speak to each other, but never engage. they do not project peace. What a conundrum and what a waste. Does the Administration feel safer?

Just as Trump’s Ballroom was always a cover story for the building of a personal bunker, this deployment of the National Guard to fight crime in DC is also cover story. ‘It’s what you build for a garrison’ gives this Maga Techbro game away. Trump & Co are not going to leave DC peacefully.
